Benzyl Alcohol is a clear, colorless liquid organic compound with a very mild, almond-like or floral aroma. This benzyl alcohol odor is so mild its nearly odorless to many people taking that first waft. It functions as a versatile solvent, antimicrobial preservative and fragrance ingredient in personal care. Its partially soluble in water, and completely miscible with alcohols.

Benzyl alcohol acts as a preservative (Concentrations of 0.5-2%) in lotions creams, and shampoos. Its great as a blender for floral terpenes.
